Our Denitrification Deep Bed Filter is a marvel of engineering, artfully merging the dual functions of denitrification and deep bed filtration. This advanced unit seamlessly integrates biological nitrogen removal with premium filtration capabilities. Perfectly positioned after the secondary sedimentation tank, it harmoniously collaborates with other treatment processes, delivering a trifecta of nitrogen, phosphorus, and suspended matter removal.

Product Feature

Our state-of-the-art denitrification deep bed filter employs 2-3mm quartz sand as a specialized medium for denitrification organisms. This ensures an effluent SS of less than 5mg/L, thanks to the large specific surface area of the medium. During extended backwash cycles, it captures an impressive 7.3kg of solid suspension per m² of filtration area. Its high solid load capacity prolongs the filtration cycle and minimizes the frequency of backwashes. The filter's gas and water backwashing cycle returns sewage to the biological treatment unit. With the filter bed's high load interception performance, backwash water consumption is kept below 4% of the plant's total water treatment volume.
Harnessing a finely tuned amount of high-quality carbon source, the denitrifying bacteria affix themselves to the quartz sand, transforming NOx-N into N, thus completing the nitrogen removal process. As nitrate nitrogen is diligently reduced to nitrogen, a significant volume accumulates in the deep bed filter, enhancing contact between microorganisms and water flow, thereby optimizing filtration efficiency. Yet, excessive nitrogen bubble accumulation can lead to head loss, necessitating periodic dispersion and restoration to maintain optimal performance.
