These microorganisms gather within the biofilm, tucked safely in the protected zone of the
fluctuating environment. Inside this haven, anaerobic and facultative aerobes find their home, while aerobic bacteria flourish externally, creating a dynamic balance.
Each carrier acts as a sophisticated micro reactor. In the aerobic treatment system, oxygen is infused through vigorous aeration, while in the anaerobic system, stirring mechanisms
ensure that the wastewater engages extensively and frequently with the biological carrier, significantly enhancing system efficiency.
Simultaneously, this process bolsters the renewal and vitality of the biofilm, forming a more
intricate composite ecosystem alongside the original activated sludge. The biofilm adhering to the carrier considerably boosts the active biomass
within the reactor. The combined influence of the suspended activated sludge and the biofilm on the suspended carrier's surface dramatically increases
