carrier's structure. Within these micro-ecosystems, anaerobic bacteria or facultative aerobes flourish internally, while aerobic bacteria establish themselves externally.
Each carrier functions as a micro-reactor, enhancing the aerobic treatment system through blast aeration, or in anaerobic systems,
ensuring dynamic interaction between wastewater and biofilm carriers through agitation. This interaction elevates system efficiency, while
simultaneously promoting biofilm microbial renewal. This process maintains and enhances the biofilm's vitality, with the carrier forming an enriched,
complex composite ecosystem alongside activated sludge, significantly boosting the active biomass presence in the reactor.
