The Denitrification Deep Bed Filter is a groundbreaking innovation, skillfully merging the processes of denitrification and deep filtration. This sophisticated unit, adeptly crafted for biological nitrogen removal, seamlessly integrates with various other treatment processes post-secondary sedimentation. It boasts an array of capabilities, including efficient nitrogen and phosphorus removal, as well as the elimination of suspended particles.

Product Feature

The denitrification deep bed filter employs 2-3mm quartz sand as a medium for denitrifying organisms. This ensures an exceptional effluent suspended solids (SS) level of less than 5mg/L. The medium's expansive specific surface area adds to its efficacy. Each filtration area, in its backwash cycle interval, captures an impressive 7.3 kg of solid suspension per m². This substantial solid load capacity markedly prolongs the filtration cycle and minimizes backwash frequency. The innovative filter is cleaned using a combination of gas and water, with backwash water typically channeled back to the biological treatment unit. Thanks to the robust interception capability of the filter bed, the backwash water volume is kept below 4% of the treatment plant's total water throughput.
Utilizing a meticulously measured amount of premium carbon source, denitrifying bacteria colonize the quartz sand surface, efficiently transforming NOx-N into gaseous N2, thus accomplishing the nitrogen removal process. Throughout denitrification, continuous reduction of nitrate nitrogen to nitrogen gas results in its accumulation within the deep bed filter, promoting optimal interaction between microorganisms and water. This interaction significantly enhances filtration efficacy. However, to prevent head loss from nitrogen bubble build-up, the system is periodically adjusted to disperse nitrogen and restore system head multiple times daily.
